Casey Stoner was taking his fourth consecutive MotoGP pole position and the fourteenth of his Grand Prix career today, smashing Dani Pedrosa’s pole record at the Sachsenring circuit, set in 2006 on the 990cc machine, by eight tenths of a second. In an exciting climax to this afternoon’s hour-long qualifying session the Australian improved his lap.
